Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great Easter! My weekend was low-key, on Saturday I enjoyed a pot-luck dinner with my boyfriend and his family. I made my famous honey barbecue ribs which is always what his sister request I make. There was also fried chicken, lasagna, potato salad, rice, salad and habichuela con dulce. Everything was delicious! We laughed, danced and even took a group selfie! Good times :)
The weather was perfect yesterday so I dragged the beau to Fort Tryon Park in Washington Heights to take pictures of my monochromatic outfit. I've been trying to put together a monochromatic outfit forever and the funny thing is, it happened unintentionally. Initially, I had a floral print peplum top on with these jeans but when I put on my shoes I saw the potential to create a great monochromatic look. I just love when I'm able to put together a great outfit using random pieces that were already in my closet.
The monochromatic style is basically the pairing of different shades of a single color. Citron is the color I chose to achieve the look. It's a great hue for Spring and turning heads!
Finding the right accessories for this outfit was a no-brainer because I already had this beautiful statement necklace from H&M in mind.
It's the little details like this tribal ring from Forever 21 that count! Less is more ;)
Top/Shoes/Ring: Forever 21
Jeans: Pretty Girl
Lipstick: Wet n Wild in Don't Blink Pink
Nail Polish: Essie in Play Date
For the past week I've been using L'Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Volume Filler Thickening Shampoo, Conditioner and Fiber Amplifying Concentrate. After using all three products the first time I didn't notice a difference but after the third use I began to feel the texture of my hair change. After blow drying my hair I had crazy volume!!! I recommend you use the products as directed and skip the flat iron in order to preserve the volume.
