My outfit posts have enabled me to embrace the fact that I don't have a particular style. Before starting Suzy's Closet I thought it was important that I figure out what category my style fell under. But after blogging for a few months, I realized that it's okay not to have a particular style. Honestly, I love experimenting with different looks because it gives me the opportunity to decide what I like and what looks good on me. For this outfit, I combined my boyfriend's collared shirt and sunglasses with a polka dot t-shirt and leopard print high waist shorts. Mixing prints is another popular trend; intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it you can do so much more with your wardrobe by combining pieces you never imagined.
I felt like a "bad ass" in this outfit! The faux leather jacket, combat boots and red lipstick helped to "toughen" up my look. It was very cold the day these pictures were taken so I layered up a little with my boyfriends Banana Republic collared shirt and a pair of sheer black pantyhose.
I honestly believe that fashion is supposed to be fun and that it's okay to break some of the "rules." How plain and boring would this world be if we all dressed the same and didn't take advantage of self expression?
