The beau finally made his debut behind the camera! He snapped a few pictures of me before we headed out to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Yes, you read correctly! Its been 10 years filled with good and bad times but I'm so thankful and happy to say that we're still going strong. Not only is he the man I love but he truly is my best friend. He knows my strengths, weaknesses, dreams, flaws and yet he accepts me for who I am. I really couldn't ask for anything more! Some people spend a lifetime trying to find "the one" I'm lucky enough to have met him in College. The secret to a great relationship is to never compare it to anyone else's. No two people are exactly alike so don't waste your time and energy comparing, it's pointless. As long as you truly love, trust and are happy with the person you're with then everything else is secondary.

I had no idea what my boo thang had planned for the evening, all he said was "wear comfortable shoes." A statement easier said than done, it totally threw off my entire outfit but he still loved what I came up with so it didn't really matter. It was very cold on our anniversary but as I always say, one never has to sacrifice being stylish because of the weather. I wore a long sleeve black dress that I borrowed from my sister (the back is to die for), thigh high boots from last years Shoedazzle showroom (so comfy to walk-in), a long leopard jacket (gift from my babes) and a royal blue fringe clutch that I picked up in Las Vegas. The entire look is very simple with a dash of sexiness and plenty of warmth. I wore pantyhose and thick winter socks underneath to keep my legs and feet warm.
We kicked off the night by heading to the top of the rock (a first for the both of us). The view is beyond amazing, one of those things us New Yorkers take for granted but I highly recommend everyone go at least once!
We then headed to dinner (also a secret), but it's so hard to surprise me because I'm a brat. When he told me we were heading to Delancey, I blurted out "Omg! Are we going to Beauty & Essex?" He gave me the not impressed face and was said "yes, there's no surprising you." Hilarious!!! We arrived a little early so we checked-in our coats and proceeded to the lounge upstairs. The restaurant is unlike any place I've ever been to, from the pawn shop set up at the entrance to the mini bar in the ladies room that serves champagne. The décor, lighting and layout exuded a vintage/romantic feel which I loved! We ordered a few dishes to share - Shrimp Cocktail, New York Pretzel, Grilled Cheese-Smoked Bacon & Tomato Soup Dumplings, Lobster 'Mac & Cheese' and Asian Spice Rubbed Pork Ribs. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I'm definitely looking forward to going back soon! They even brought out a yummy cupcake in honor of our anniversary (I made a very special wish).
We met a cool couple named Douglas and Meg from Austin, Texas during dinner and ended up hanging out with them in the lounge area after we finished dinner. It's always great to meet new people who are as passionate about life as we are.
At the end of the day no one can dictate to you what classifies as true happiness. No matter what you do, others will always judge.
