Pencil skirt's are a wardrobe staple every woman should have in her closet. It's appropriate for work, special events and is great when transitioning an outfit from day to night. When starting off a new wardrobe I recommend selecting neutral colors; this will allow you to maximize the number of outfits you can put together because colors like black, white, beige, gray and brown go with anything. Once you have the basics then you can begin to incorporate color.
Victoria Beckham was the inspiration for this look, she has been seen rockin' the peplum trend and always has on a pair of oversized stunnas. I enjoy putting together celeb looks for less because it proves you don't need a huge bank account to look & feel great!
Since the Spring weather has yet to arrive in NYC I decided to wear this faux-leather peplum top (not something I'd wear when it's hot outside because of the material). I knew this outfit was something I'd be wearing to work so I paired it with a knee length pencil skirt. I just love how royal blue looks with neon yellow so I wore these bright shoes from F21 and statement bracelet gifted by Love Liz Shop.
