Hey loves! My boo Andreina (aka my amazing photographer) is back from vacation and we were finally able to take pictures for the blog! I have been wanting to try something different as far as outfit posts so I decided to style one article of clothing (maxi dress) in multiple ways. This first installment is the simplest way I would wear a maxi dress for a day out. Stay tuned to see the other 5 ways I styled my maxi dress.
Want to make a statement without saying a word?
Opt for a bold lipstick when wearing a simple outfit.
This feather belt really compliments this look because it creates a focal point by drawing your attention to my waist. A long dangly necklace that drapes to the center of your waist can also do the trick!

Belt: Necessary Clothing (similar here)
Lipstick: Milani in Flamingo Pose
Maxi dresses are a must-have wardrobe staple this Summer. They come in a wide variety of cuts, colors and prints that you're sure to find one that suits your body type. Personally, I love wearing strapless dresses because I feel it compliments my figure. If you're intimidated by the length, don't be because there are simple solutions to that. You can have a seamstress hike up the hem line or you can pair the dress with platforms or wedges. If you're pressed for time you can use double-stick strips to temporarily fix the hem.
Since this is the first look, I kept it very simple by only adding a skinny belt and minimal accessories. I really like how the cognac color of the belt and wedges play against the coral color of the dress. Some turquoise colored accessories would have also worked for this dress but since they didn't match with the wedges I just stuck with a gold necklace and a few wooden bracelets.
Don't be afraid to play around with color and transitional pieces of clothing when wearing a maxi dress because doing so can dramatically change the look/feel of your outfit.
