Hey there! If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter then you already know that I just got back from my awesome vacation in Miami, Florida. It's one of my favorite places to visit because of the beautiful beaches, hot weather and nightlife. The beau and I stayed at the President Hotel in South Beach, the room was exactly what we were looking for! Spacious, clean, bright and only a few blocks away from la playa (the beach). I'll be sharing a few snapshots from my trip later this week, so stay tuned!
The first day of summer is only a few days away so I decided to create a post to showcase a few ways I protect myself from the sun. The sun’s harmful rays not only contribute to 90% of premature aging like lines and wrinkles but they also cause melanoma, which is the most aggressive form of skin cancer. For this reason, it's extremely important that you always apply sunscreen/sunblock before exposing your skin to the sun. I have experienced third degree burns from the sun in the past and have taken a proactive approach since then to prevent that from happening again. A few preventative steps I take when exposing myself to the sun include: wearing sunglasses, wide-brimmed hat, light colors, swimsuit cover ups and bringing a beach umbrella. I select styles that are fun so I still feel fashionable while protecting myself.

L'Oréal Paris Advanced Suncare Collection
While in Miami I was able to try out the new L'Oréal Paris Advanced Suncare Collection. The sunscreen products are formulated with an advanced photostable patented UV filter system, powerful antioxidants and luxurious lightweight textures which are designed for every skin tone under the sun. The collection includes a variety of formulas (lotion, oil & sheer spray) and a Sheer BB Face Lotion. The products I used were all SPF 30 but they also come in SPF 50+. I love the L'Oréal Paris Advanced Suncare Collection because they are infused with a nourishing blend of powerful antioxidants and they don't leave a greasy residue. I also like the fact that these products are affordable, pricing at around $9.99 each. Even my guy friends were slathering up to protect themselves from the suns powerful UV rays. Always keep in mind that the sun's rays are most harmful between 10 am - 3 pm and you must reapply the sunscreen/sunblock accordingly based on the SPF you're using.
