A few months ago I came across a book on Independent Fashion Bloggers website called, "Fashion 2.0: Blogging Your Way To The Front Row" by Yuli Ziv. Being that I'm new to the world of blogging I thought it would be helpful if I read a little about how to become a successful blogger. In the book Yuli provides a step by step guide on how to brand yourself, secure invitations to important industry events (i.e. Fashion Week), build valuable relationships with brands and more. Yuli's persistence paid off in 2008 when she formed Style Coalition, a blogger network which was the first-of-its-kind to join foces with a traditional publishing company by signing an exclusive partnership with Elle magazine.
After exchanging a few tweets on Twitter with Yuli, I decided it would be a great opportunity to meet her and learn more about Style Coalition. The 4th Annual Fashion 2.0 Awards took place at the SVA Theatre in New York City. The awards were hosted by Style Expert/TV Personality, Robert Verdi. The Fashion 2.0 awards honor the most innovative fashion brands like DVF, Marc Jacobs and DKNY for their outstanding achievements and communication strategies through social media and technology.
I really enjoyed the ceremony and Robert's witty sense of humor. I was honored to have been able to meet both Yuli Ziv and Robert Verdi after the show.
