As promised, here are my top 5 favorite face primers!!!
They consist of:
1) Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer - $36 (1 oz)
2) Benefit the POREfessional - $31 (.75 oz)
3) L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur - $20 (1.18 oz)
4) Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Face Primer - $6 (.67 oz)
5) e.l.f. Studio Hydrating Face Primer $6 (.49 oz)
Face primers are a great way to minimize pores, wrinkles and even out skin tones. They're also great at helping your makeup stay put longer.
How to use face primers:
*Wash your face, moisturize, wait 5 minutes then apply a pea size amount to your face. Focusing more on your T-zone (see image below) and under your eyes.
*Wait a few seconds and then apply concealer, foundation or face powder as you normally would.
*Face primers can also be worn alone on days you don't feel like wearing foundation.
This was the first face primer I ever purchased and the most expensive. A few Vloggers mentioned it in their makeup tutorials so I figured it was worth trying. While the Smashbox Photo Finish primer does fill in lines and pores, I don't see anything special about this primer. I would not purchase it again because I feel it's way too expensive for something I'm just going to wash off my face at the end of the day.
The POREfessional is my favorite face primer to date! I love how lightweight and smooth it is. This translucent, oil free formula contains Vitamin E and compliments all skin tones. A little bit goes a long way so don't be deceived by the size of the tube, I've had mine since the Summer and it's still going strong!
If you're wondering why this image is a sample, it's because I gave the full-size product to my mom. I gifted it to her after using it a few times because I feel it works better on more mature skin. The L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur is great at reducing the appearance of wrinkles. It also does a great job at moisturizing and protecting the skin because it has SPF 30.
The Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser is fairly new, it's a good dupe for the POREfessional. I ordered mine from Walmart.com for only $5.94 and got the same great results as the POREfessional.
Ladies, don't sleep on e.l.f. cosmetics! I know you're probably thinking their products are no bueno because they're so inexpensive but I totally disagree. A lot of their products are actually just as good as the pricier stuff. This e.l.f. Mineral Face Primer is the one I recommended to my younger sister who was looking for something affordable to hydrate her skin and reduce the appearance of fine line and pores.
