COVERGIRL has a new line of nail polishes called XL Nail Gel. They truly do have a plump gel-like finish and intense shine. Although I've never had a gel manicure I was excited to try the XL Nail Gel. I did some research in order to compare the process/results of a real gel manicure to the COVERGIRL XL Nail Gel.
A gel manicure typically lasts up to 2-3 weeks and there are two different types:
1) Ultra violet light cured gel
2) Ultra violet light-free cured gel
Just like the UV-free cured gel the COVERGIRL XL Nail Gel does not require a UV light, it's also great for women that don't have a lot of spare time to upkeep their nails or may be traveling. Below is a picture of what my nails look like 5 days after applying COVERGIRL XL Nail Gel in the color 'Ample Apple.' Impressive right? My hands are always in water and by now I would have literally only had one dot of color on each finger had I used a regular nail polish. Unlike other UV light-free cured gel the XL Nail Gel is inexpensive, easy to remove and does not require the use of any tools or chemicals. For best results, shake well and apply 2 coats. I took it one step further and applied my Essie Good To Go for a rapid dry.
I believe the line contains 9 different shades: Ample Apple, Whole Lotta Guava, Haughy Lemon, Plump It Pear, Bleu It, Plumped-Up Plum, Rotund Raspberry, Overblow Orange and Bodacious Berry. If you can't find the COVERGIRL XL Nail Gel at your local drugstore you can check Walgreens.com and Soap.com
Now what are you waiting for? Go make all your friends GEL-ous with COVERGIRL XL Nail Gel!!!
