During this particular post you will be hearing from me, Veronica. For starters I'm 21 years old and just one month away from being a college graduate! The majority of my time is spent focusing on school work and writing up lesson plans for my job as an after school tutor. Lets talk about that for a minute, shall we? Lets just be real for a second and remember that kids are cruel. For myself, someone who struggles with breakouts and scaring, questions like "when are you going to pop that?" or "Ms. Veronica, why do you look so tired?" come on the regular with these kids. They have absolutely no verbal filters. Since I knew Susana is great with makeup I asked her to help me out with some problems I have:
Consider the following:
I've had a lot of these scars since September. It really takes a long time for my face to heal up, which makes it extra important that we find products that wont worsen my face.
I never really took the time to search for anything other then foundation and I thought the experience would be overwhelming with the selections but thanks to Susana I found what I needed for us to do this post!
Lets get it started!
First up, e.l.f's Studio Mineral Infused Face Primer is super affordable and effective. I had never used a facial primer before and after a brief explanation from Susana, I was extremely interested to see it in action.
OH MY GOD! It felt like a massage! I loved how smooth it was and non-oily. I'm always scared to try new things on my face since I don't know for sure how my skin will react but so far so good!
The Beautyblender is something fairly new to me. It gives an all over even coverage without sucking up all of the makeup. I was so naive when I got my first Beautyblender that I didn't know I had to wet it before using it, Susana laughed for hours after hearing about that.
I started using Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse because it didn't clog my pores like the previous foundation I had been using. The pump gives the perfect amount in two pushes, enough to cover your entire face.
Maybelline's SuperStay 24HR Concealer works so well! What I liked about it overall was that it wasn't watered down and it didn't take much to cover up my scars!
"BLEND, BLEND, BLEND!"- Susana.
Since its so hard for me to find the right shade Susana suggested that I finish off my foundation with a bronzer. While we looked around Target for a bronzer, I saw just how expensive they are until we found this e.l.f bronzer for $3 compared to the others priced at $15 and I am certainly on a college student budget! I have to say I really like the finish and it did the job of helping me blend.
I've never worn lipstick because I'm extremely skeptical of how it would look on me. Knowing this, Susana suggested I try Baby Lips by Maybelline New York. What better time to try something then when it's on sale! I got a pack of two Baby Lips for $4.99 at Target. She suggested I use "Pink Punch" because it gives the perfect hint of pink for a newbie like myself.
Curling your eyelashes really makes a difference!
There we have it! A basic look thats perfect for me to go to school and work that's quick and easy enough for me to do in the mornings.
