This is what I wore to meet with the Editor-in-Chief and Publicist of Uptown Girls NYC. In December, I attended an event they hosted at Apt. 78 where I had the pleasure of meeting the founders. Uptown Girls NYC strives to empower women by sharing their expertise and personal experiences through blogging, social media, volunteering and event planning. What makes them unique is their focus on the cultural movemet taking place in Uptown, New York City. I'm excited about this wonderful opportunity to collaborate with such talented women.

Although I'm a fashionista on a budget and I don't really care about brands, I can appreciate luxury brands for their quality and longevity. I saved money to purchase my first investment piece - Louis Vuitton Damier Speedy Handbag. To most people it's just a handbag and in its physical form that's exactly what it is. However, to me it's more than just a handbag because I worked hard for it and it makes me feel empowered when I wear it because of that. In my opinion, the value is not in the actual handbang but the story behind it.
