Good afternoon everyone! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!!!
I sure did! I spent with my boyfriends family at his sisters place. The amount of food she cooked up was crazy (see my IG if you don't believe me), everything was AMAZING! We had a lot of good laughs and I bonded with my 10 month-old twin niece & nephew (swoon)!!!
As promised, below is the second installment of the sweatpants I styled for a casual-look last week. I love reading feedback from my subbies so feel free to leave a comment! <3
My collection of Befabulosa

Trust me these lipsticks are a must-have and they make great stocking stuffers ;)
Fashion is all about taking risks, but not the kind of disasters you see on the red carpet worst dressed list. It's more about wearing something that is still you but just a little out of your comfort zone. It was a bit challenging trying to figure out how to take these faux-leather/cotton sweats from day to night but I love the end result! For this look, I incorporated pieces that are Winter friendly (being cold is NOT an option for me). Although my top is sheer and my toes are a little exposed, I was very warm. Some of the Winter essentials I wore for this look include a faux-fur vest, booties and a cute wool hat - all of which I already had in my closet (except the hat).
Neutrals always work best when you're not too sure what to pair something with. Once you've got the outfit down you can incorporate colors, prints or textures with your accessories & makeup. I typically select a few pieces and try them on in front of the mirror to see which one's look best with my outfit. This whole process is trial and error but I guarantee you that if you start building up your wardrobe with the basic pieces I've suggested this past year you will love the outcome!
Lastly, if you follow me on Instagram you know that I just had a small brunch event at APT 78 to celebrate the one year anniversary of my blog! I wish I could have invited everyone to attend but I couldn't due to capacity. There will be a post on the blog later this week about my event but I had to do something special for all my readers, so I decided to do an awesome GIVEAWAY!!!! Stay tuned for more details on how you can win all of these Maybelline
cosmetics and makeup removers!!!
Thank you all for your continued support and feeback. Suzy's Closet would not be possible without each and every one of you! Besitos!!!
Up until my mid 20's I lived in jeans, sweats, sneakers, timberland boots and fitted hats (yikes lol). All that changed in 2008 when I went on my first trip to Miami, Florida. My friends were shocked to see me wearing a dress for the very first time. Although my style has come a long way since then, my love for streetstyle still exists.
Since the majority of the pictues for my blog are taken during my lunch break I thought it would be cool to mix things up and show you two ways to wear sweatpants: casual day-look and trendy night-look. Stay tuned for part II coming to the blog soon!
I love this ring! You can purchase a similar one here
Let me start off by saying that I could literally wear these sweats everyday! They are so comfortable but fashionable at the same time because of the faux-leather detail on the front. I paired them with a pair of Jordan's but this look could also be worn with black wedge sneakers. If you're going for a streetstyle look, graphic tees are a great option. I really like the selection of graphic tees at Forever 21
, I spotted this one on my penpal a few months ago and I had to have it! Biggie is one of my favorite rappers, not just because I'm from Brooklyn but because he represents that "Sky's The Limit."
To add more of an edge to this look, I wore a two-toned faux-leather moto jacket from H&M (a great timeless piece to add to your wardrobe). A simple black clutch, ear cuff and jaguar two-finger ring finised off this trendy/comfy casual look. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Xoxo
No matter how old I get, I will always be a kid at heart :)

My daily routine has been the same for the past four years and it's far from glamorous. it goes a little like this: wake up at 5:00 AM, brush my teeth, shower, moisturize, pick an outfit for work, comb my hair, apply makeup (if I have time), feed the dog and grab my purse all before jumping in my silver stretch limo (the train). There's only so much I can do differently to switch up my daily routine because I don't have a lot of free time. One thing that I've been doing to liven up my routine is trying new beauty products. I honestly enjoy using new products for my skin, hair and nails because it's the only way to truly find the right products for me.
é As a fashionista on a budget, I'm always looking for ways to get the most bang for my buck. I try to buy my beauty products when they are on sale or during a promotion because I save some money and sometimes get to treat myself to a little something extra. With the Divina Latina beauty products available at CVS/pharmacy, I'm eligible for special ExtraBucks Rewards when I purchase products by Pond's, Caress and TRESemmé. Every $50 spent on beauty products at CVS/pharmacy earns you $5 ExtraBucks. Music to my ears because I get to save money and "Be Red Carpet Ready Every Day."
I'm very dedicated to my skin and hair routine because a polished appearance is essential. I strongly believe that in order to be Divina your hair, skin and nails all need to be preened to perfection. Regardless of what you have on, if you don't groom yourself the fabulous outfit you're wearing will not be the focal point. Instead, people will notice your dirty hair, dry skin and chipped nails.
Just this week I started using two amazing Divina Latina products that have managed to spruce up my daily routine. For my face, I'm using Pond's Rejuveness which is an anti-wrinkle cream with AHAs & Collagen that firms skin and visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines. I really like it because it's super gentle, moisturizing and has a soft baby-like scent. After washing my hair I have been applying TRESemme's Keratin Smooth Serum while my hair is still wet to eliminate frizz and seal in shine. Besides the fact that it really works, I like that it doesn't leave a greasy residue on my hands like most hair serums.
Breaking the daily-routine and being a Divina Latina
, while doing so, is a reward in itself!
Ever wish you could recreate celeb beauty looks?
Well, I have the inside beauty scoop straight from L'Oréal Paris
on Roselyn Sanchez's Latin GRAMMY makeup look!!!
Last night, the 40-year-old model/actress looked gorgeous in her Rani Zakhem dress as she walked the green carpet at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The long-strapless dress was a great choice for her body type and the occasion. Roselyn is a natural beauty so it doesn't take much to accentuate her features. By keeping her makeup simple and wearing minimal accessories around her neckline the dress became the focal point. Hair also plays an important role when putting together your look. Although Roselyn left her hair loose it did not take away from the dress because it was sleek and neatly kept behind her shoulders.
This year, L'Oréal Paris
had the pleasure of working with Roselyn Sanchez and a few other celebs. Roselyn's makeup artist used L'Oréal Paris
cosmetics to create bold smokey eyes and a nude lip. I absolutely love when makeup artists use drugstore brands on celebs because it makes it possible for us to "get the look!"
I hope you all are having a great day. Today's post is another installment to my casual Friday outfits, enjoy! :)
These red pumps from Aldo
are my all-time favorites. I've had them for years!
The fold-over waistband added a unique touch to this sporty sweatshirt!
I absolutely love that this bag comes with a removable strap so you have the option of wearing it as a crossbody!!! I'm a sucker for details!
Sweatshirt & Handbag: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target
Shirt: Forever 21
Jeans: Express (old)
Shoes: Aldo (old)
in Uptown Mauve and Wet n Wild
in Cherry Bomb
Nail polish: Color Club
in Dark N' Stormy
As I mentioned in my "Don't sweat it!
" post, I'm a fan of the sweatshirt trend. I seriously never thought it was possible to dress-up a sweatshirt, especially not for work. This sporty sweatshirt is from the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection; an affordable dupe of his "KA-POW" comic-print sweater which retails for $425. This Target collaboration has been my favorite one thus far because it is the most similar budget-friendly takes on the "real thing." The handbags were no exception, just look (see image below) at how similar the satchel I purchased is to the original yellow mini leather Pashli satchel that cost $725. I scored my replica for only $34.99!!!!
I purchased the sweatshirt in a size extra small for a perfect fit. When paired with a white collared shirt, dark jeans and high heels my sweatshirt was instantly transformed into a stylish look for the office. I really like the combination of yellow and red so to play up the colors on the sweatshirt I accessorized with those same colors. By keeping the rest of the layers neutral it made the sweatshirt stand out. This sweatshirt would also look great with a skirt!

I love candid photos!!!
Thank you to my sissy for taking these pics of me <3
Coats and Winter accessories are everything this season. They are the first thing people see and are an important part of your outfit. The same rules that apply when selecting your outfit apply to your outerwear. You should always look for coats and accessories (scarves, gloves, hats, earmuffs, mittens, etc.) that suit your body type and are appropriate for your age and lifestyle. Leopard print is my go-to print when selecting Winter gear because it acts as a neutral and will never go out of style.
The length and material of this dress make it a perfect for work. I love the way it flares up at the bottom, giving it a more youthful feel. When wearing solid colors I like to incorporate hints of detail by adding on some colorful accessories. I thought blue would look great against this camel color dress so I paired it with this bold leopard print scarf. Not only did it add a little personality to my dress but it helped keep me warm. To play up the colors on the scarf I wore a pair of blue heels from Forever 21
A lot of women ask me, how can they put together stylish looks for work? I think this outfit is a great example on how to do just that. It's simple with just the right amount of style. I can already tell this scarf is going to be one of my favorites this Winter. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!!! Good morning my loves! After a week of being out of commission due to strep throat I am now starting to feel better!!! My new camera arrived last week and while I still haven't mastered the settings I must say I'm loving the picture quality!!! My talented younger sister stopped by my job yesterday to take these outfit of the day pictures for me (thank you Vero!). In case you're wondering about the new hair color, I recently dyed my hair black for the Winter. It's a drastic change but I've been getting a lot of compliments on the new look :)
I picked up this 3/4 sleeve crochet white lace dress at H&M
about two months ago, it was part of the "buy one get one free" rack so I dove right in! The original price was $29.95 but I scored a FREE leopard print sweater as well. H&M is a great place to start looking if you want to liven up your work wardrobe. On many occassions I've managed to find great items on sale and even more so now that you can shop their store online
I love making statements with my outfits because they exemplify my personality. This look is very simple but the statement it makes is far from. Wearing white after Labor Day has always been frowned upon but these days it's the new trend to try! I really love this look because it's so comfortable and defying. I wore thick black pantyhose and black booties so the lace details of the dress would pop. Would you wear white during the Winter?
I'm baaaack!!! Did you miss me? Lol

Good afternoon everyone!!!
I feel like its been so long since I've posted, and I feel so bad about it. The blog is going through a transitional period right now so please bare with me. I hope to be blogging again on a regular basis as soon as my new camera arrives! (I'm so excited). Can you believe it's already November? Where did 2013 go? These next few weeks my goal is to inspire you all with some great looks for the holiday season. With that being said, let's talk about boots baby! lol They come in all different lengths, colors and textures but I Iove 'em all! Whether you're a moto ankle bootie type of girl or you prefer sexy thigh high boots they are a necessity for the harsh Winter months.
Variety is something I strive for when it comes to my footwear because you just never know what the weather will bring. Adding these rider boots to my collection was a no brainer, I actually have them in 3 different colors. They are super comfortable and I love the edginess they add to my outfits. I typically where them with leggings because I have big calves but they would also look nice with jeggings or skinny jeans.
I thought this look would be perfect for a day out or a low key get together. You could easily swap the chambray shirt with a printed sweater or turtleneck. With black leggings and black boots you can pretty much wear anything on top but one thing to keep in mind is your derriere. I'm not one to leave it exposed when wearing leggings (just my personal preference). One thing you definitely want to keep in mind is the thickness/quality of your leggings in order to conceal those hot pink leopard undies you might be wearing. I only buy my leggings from Express because they provide the coverage I need and they are made out of great quality material (no lint or fading). To test the leggings for the right thickness, I place my hand underneath the material and then pull on it, if I can see my hand then I don't buy them because that means you'll be able to see through them when I put them on.
The kissy face never gets old! Xoxo

Today's post is all about this amazing package I received from L’Oréal! I was sent some of their latest products to try out and review, cool right? I really enjoyed learning about the products and using them. I hope my feedback is able to provide some guidance for those of you that are interested in trying some of the L’Oréal
Thank you L’Oréal
for not only sending me so many great products but also for giving me the opportunity to share my opinions about them!!!
Sublime Sun Advanced Sunscreen Oil SPF 15
I brought this L'Oreal Sunscreen
with me to Miami back in April and I loved it! The spray bottle made it easy to apply all over my body. My favorite things about this sunscreen is the scent and the fact that it does not leave a greasy residue once it dries up. This water resistant/dermatologist tested sunscreen oil is available in SPF 15, 30 and 50+.
L’Oréal Paris Ideal Clean Collection
Makeup Removing Towelettes
Foaming Gel Cleanser
This trio from the Ideal Clean Collection is awesome! The foaming gel cleanser
smells really good and gets 90% of my makeup off with just one wash! The eye makeup is more stubborn so I use a separate cream for that. All of these products are very gentle on my sensitive skin. The only thing I'd like to add about the facial wash is that you have to rinse your face multiple times to get all of it off. I keep the makeup removing towelettes
and sensitvie skin facial moisturizer
in my night stand so I don't forget to clean & moisturize before bed.
L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect BB Cream Instant Radiance
BB creams are a great alternative when you don't want to wear regular foundation. It's great for those days you'll be at the beach or in the pool. Honestly, I wasn't thrilled about the Age Perfect BB Cream
because it did not provide full coverage and the cream itself felt watery. I've tried other BB and CC creams through the samples I receive from Birchbox
and I have only found one that I really like.
L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Finishing
I actually gifted this product to my mom but she let me use it and I have to say that I love it! This is a great alternative for a face primer because it smooths out imperfections such and wrinkles, lines and pesky pores. Just a pea size amount is enough to cover my entire face. The Revitalift Miracle Blur
is sold at most drug stores for approximately $24.99 Sign up for the L'Oreal Gold Rewards Loyalty Program
for special offers and coupons!
L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare
L’Oréal has a collection of hair products called "Advanced Haircare" and they are AMAZING! I'm constantly switching shampoo/conditioner in search for the right one. My scalp is very dry and this shampoo/conditioner has really helped revitalize my hair. I also use the Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm
which has diminished the appearance of split ends and damage that hot tools have caused. I highly recommend this line of haircare to anyone who is looking to revitalize their hair color, restore health, hydrate, soften and reinforce hair.
L’Oréal Paris Féria Wild Ombré
I have not used my L’Oréal Wild Ombré kit because I took a break from the lighter locks. However, I do plan on bringing back the ombré this Winter and I'll definitely be putting this to use! I watched the tutorial on how to use it and it looks easy as pie. Ladies, if you're interested in doing your own ombré at home I think this product would be a great option for you. L’Oréal Paris Colour Caresse Shine Stain by Colour Riche
I was not a fan of the Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain
. They left my lips feeling sticky and the color did not last long. However, I did like the assortment of colors available and cute packaging ;)
L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish
I really liked the intense color and quality of the Colour Riche Nail Polish
. It has a matte finish, nothing a top coat of clear nail polish can't fix! The one I have on is called "Royalty Reinvented," it's a very pretty lavender color. During the Spring I used 2 coats for a pastel feel but I'm currently layering on 3 coats for a darker effect. The brush provides precise application and the color is long-lasting (I did not test the 10-day guarantee because I change my nail polish every three days lol).
Hi my loves! I hope you all had a great weekend. I spent mine catching up on sleep and spending time with my boyfriends family. Sometimes the best plan is to not have any plans, lol. When I don't have any plans I usually spend the day at home organizing. Yesterday was all about storing my open-toe shoes and making my boots and booties accessible. If you're looking for someone to help you with this process send me an email
, I provide closet revamp services on a budget ;)
Sometimes I wear things once and won't wear it again for a very long time. But when I do decide to wear it again, I try to style it differently. This peplum top is what I wore on my anniversary last December. The weather was not very nice so I wore it with woven pants and cap-toe heels (see below). I like to wear bright colors, especially on gloomy days so I dug it out of my closet and paired it with a pencil skirt for work. I love combining peplum tops with pencil skirts because it makes me feel feminine and flirty!
I have a ton of pencil skirts but I really like this one because of the gold button detail on the side. Small details add personality to your look and help to make the look YOURS. A few gold-tone accessories and red lipstick got the Suzy seal of approval! Always remember that you wear the clothes, not the other way around. You could find a shirt for $1 and rock it like it's worth $1,000 as long as you make it your own and feel confident wearing it.
